Copyright: Section 108 Study Group Report

An independent Section 108 Study Group was appointed by the Library of Congress and the U.S. Copyright office to study the effects of digital technologies on this key section of copyright law.  Their reccomendations are not binding, but serve to advise the government on what steps should be taken to update copyright law to reflect the realities of a digital world.

The Study Group released their report about a week ago.  You can get a good overview by reading the executive summary.  Librarians should be aware of these recommendations, as many of them affect items such as digital access, interlibrary loan and preserving digital works.
